This month’s action is on two stages: the personal planets – these are the smaller ones closer to the Sun, from Mercury to Mars – dance with each other, and the bigger planets make connections with the personal ones. Two of the bigger planets, Jupiter and Saturn, are called social planets, the other ones are the transpersonal planets. Jupiter is the planet of generosity, expansion, prosperity, good luck and some extravaganza. Saturn stands for limitation, schedules, hierarchy, rules, discipline and endurance.
When Jupiter throws a party, Saturn keeps an eye until when loud music is allowed. And when the last dance hasn’t happened then, he sends in the police (because the neighbors complained). Saturn is our reality checker.
Saturn is also connected with the ultimate limitation, death. In ancient times, it was the last known planet: after that there was emptiness. It was only in 1781, when William Herschel, an English astronomer, discovered Uranus (by accident, typical for this planet of the unexpected), that we found out there are more planets beyond Saturn. Interestingly, Ra Uru Hu, founder of Human Design, said that from then on Human Design became a valid way to describe human beings – with nine instead of seven energy centers. I sense that we as humanity are beginning to integrate what the transpersonal planets convey. Imagine that your thoughts and feelings are not limited to you as a person, but are part of a vast field of thoughts, or waves in a collective ocean of feelings. Then imagine that this will be a reality for more and more people. It will change how we see ourselves, and how we will live together. Uranus and Neptune point this way, and also Human Design is a tool that accompanies and prepares us for this transition.
Jupiter stays on its own in April, moreover it turns retrograde on the 11th in gate 11, Harmony. No party time this month, rather a period of self-reflection – how we could bring more peace into our relationships from an inner state of harmony. Taskmaster Saturn is in Gate 54, Ambition, looking for projects and associations that will be successful for a longer time, especially from April 11-16, when he actives the Channel of Transformation with the Earth in Gate 32, Duration. Saturn’s message here in the 6th Line: honesty is the best policy. Saturn in Gate 54 also gives us the drive to stay with something. A good time to lay a stable foundation for new ventures.
The Earth, meanwhile, goes through gates in the Spleen Center all month. While our inspirations and ideas, our fire, come from the Sun in our Chart, the Earth reflects how they come into being. The Spleen tells us to listen to our body while we work. To breathe, to be aware of our senses and internal sensations each moment, will help us to stay relaxed while in action. We can make intuitive adjustments in our routines. Our body will thank us for it and reward us with well-being.
Mars is in the Throat, the center of manifestation, in April: present, enthusiastic, wanting to try out new things and, towards the end of the month, also able to create gains on the material plane. From 26-4 to 2-5 it activates the Money Channel, first with Mercury, then with Venus. Be open for some luxury.
Venus is playful this month: the planet is like a lady at a party, going around, sensing where the juicy people/planets are and chatting (or more) with them. Some days of grace (Gate 22, Apr 10-14) with Neptune, love talk with Mercury on the 15th, sharing a kiss with Mars on the 18th (Channel 35-36, which, among other things, indicates affairs). This could be an interesting day for the interplay of female and male energies, within you or in the outer world. Full moon the next day too… April 19-23 is a healing time for the feminine in Gate 25 with Chiron, while finally Venus forms the Channel of Money with Mars from 29-4 to 2-5.
Uranus moves from Gate 3, Beginnings, with its chaos and innovation, into Gate 27, Nourishment, on April 14. If you really want to shake things up – and this is what Uranus does – you need to be centered in yourself first. Nourishment reminds us that we need to take care of our own needs before we can nourish others. From Apr 17-21, the Earth activates the Channel of Preservation with Uranus: there is a tendency to give yourself away, depleting your resources for the sake of other people. What could be your motivation? This kind of giving is usually not received well; people feel the energy is not balanced, or they simply are the wrong people to give to. The next 6 days, until the 27th, the Sun accompanies Uranus in Gate 27. The natural self-centeredness of the Sun makes it easier to first take care of your own needs. If you then share with the people around you, your warmth will reach the right persons and empower them. It can be instructive to watch these dynamics, which are anyway present in our lives, and which the planets highlight in this period. This way the stars can bring more awareness into our life.
